? on '05 Evo

I test drove an '05 over this past weekend (I own an '03now).
With the tarmac setting, the car was hard to get into a parking spot, is this normal now? Seemed a bit STi-ish to me.
Thanks

What do you mean by hard to get into a parking spot? Are you talking about the turning radius? The turning radius on my 03 is horrible I couldn't imagine it being any worse.

Your question makes no sense to me???? I've driven both an 03 and 05 ... not much difference. I've also driven an 04 STi .... so I'm not sure what you're getting at ....

My appologies,
When pulling around the dealer lot and pulling into a parking spot- the 05 felt like an old 4x4 with the frt hubs locked in. Weather and lot were dry at the time. I have not experienced this with my 03. The Sti I drove had the same harshness when making a full lock turn at slow speeds. I was wondering if any other 05 owners had experienced this? Is this normal with the new diff? I'm considering tradeing mine for an 05 or a MR. Thanks.

I've never felt any of that with my 05. Maybe the one you drove had problems. I wouldn't trade-in your 03 just yet, wait till the IX comes out to see what it brings.

I didn t experience anything like that. On rainy days gravel setting rules very easy to control at high speed on very very wet roads, i was quiet impress tarmac is very good too but not as much grip and control.

That different feel is called a limited slip front diff and electronic center diff; neither came in 03's or 04's GSR's, but stock in all model 05's.

i spun out on tarmac setting, i need ayc!, anyway, i don't notice too much diff except when it rains, the gravel setting does work better in the wet, never will use the snow setting though, it doesn't snow much where i'm from.

AYC won't defy the laws of physics ....

Hungbee112: Yeah, Ookami is a good friend of mine ... I've met a few other EVO owners in NE. A guy with a black one, a guy with a red one, another guy with a silver one and supposedly there are a few others too ... I'm bad with names

so far that is the only smart answer i have heard any one say, and not surprisingly it is correct, the new acd is very diff than the 02-04 models, and just fyi running the acd on wet road with it in the gravel mode with end up making the center diff to go south. in you arent in gravel or snow, dont change it and if all else fails and you dont know where it needs be set to, put it in tarmac mode. hopefully i informed you before you had to replace the diff

what are you talking about? that sticker on the door when you bought the car even says on wet roads put it in gravel mode. and how would chaging the behavior of when it locks/unlocks make it go south? or are you just pulling that info out of your ***?
