someone help me... my cigeratte lighter in my evo viii is in use by my g-tech pro...it gets reading from the cigeratte lighter's power...if i splice that...the reading will be off...i need another cigeratte lighter...whats the easist wire to tap into to get power? same as orginal cigeratte lighter...i duno if im making myself clear...
go to your local parts store and buy Mini-add-a-circuit i got mine at autozone for like $8.00 plug it into fuse slot 10 (empty) in cabin fuse box. dedicated/switched power no splicing easy removal!
what device aside from Gtech are you trying to run? Let's start there...
um, pwr inverter- sounds heavy duty. Why not pwr directly off the battery hot wire, I believe yellow color behind the dash...

splice one of the device pwr / ground wires.
take out the headunit, you'll find "yellow", "red" and "black" colored wires. you'll want to tap off "red" for 12v ignition pwr and "black" to "black" for chasis ground or bare metal. "yellow" is constant 12v - DONT use, you'll drain your battery.
route your wires neatly, reconnect batter, test...whola...

don't do any of that remove the door infront of your left knee and there is a fuse box there slot 10 is empty get the mini-add-a-fuse from above slide it into slot 10 with the appropriate fuse in the upper fuse slot hook your power wire up and ground anywhere you like...clean power dedicated circuit. i ran my zeitronix wideband with this setup. it didn't work at first so i rotated the mini-add-a-circuit holder 180 degrees and voila.
