The point he's making is to the guy who said Evos don't go above 140. Basically if you (the guy posted) don't know then keep it shut.

I personally been up to 160mph in my evo on a long straight highway with just a 3 in turboback with no problems. All you need is intake, turboback and a reflash and it will be close race with a m3 from a roll. If you want more pull on the highway get some 272 cams and say good buy the m3!!! M3's got some good top end, but its nothing a few tweeks can fix on our evos. I love turbo cars. There is no way a M3 will pull on my turbo gsr powered crx on the highway!!! Its fwd but its got soo much top end!!! Good luck.

I SAID IT GOES ABOUT 140MPH? JUST B/C YOUR SPEEDO SAYS 140MPH, IT'S ABOUT 5-8 MPH OFF AT THIS SPEED. AND WHY IN THE HELL WOULD YOU KEEP ON TRUCK'N TO TRY TO HIT 160MPH (ON SPEEDO) WHEN YOUR GETTING PULLED AND PULLED BY AN M3? Some speedos are off as much as 10mph. Since I run 255/40ZR17, my speedo reads higher than a stock EVO so if my speedo reads 160mph, then I'm prob only going 145-150mph.

A.) My evo pulls fine to 140mph. Its not like 1st gear or anything, but it certainly doesn't waste its time. Matter of fact, I pulled a late generation SN95 Cobra to 140mph. When I got there, I couldn't even see his lights anymore. Maybe your Evo was tuned differently from the factory and doesn't pull as hard.

B.) The nose of the Evo doesn't appreciably lift at 140mph. I've cornered at 130mph and the car is stable. I, on the other hand, am ****ting my pants, but its because I'm a wuss, not because of the car.

Its starting to sound like you got screwed on your Evo.

Hey stupid? Nice retort. I could give 2 sh$ts about how fast you drive. If you want to have a pissing contest then try 214mph in a twin turbo DeTomaso Pantera, using a GPS.

What type of work do you do to get a Pantera to 214mph?

Also, was it a tt 351C? I've seen some of those, they're pretty badass.

Yes TT 351C, and a lot of work and money involved of course. A freind of my fathers does the work. And it is NOT my car. I just get to hammer it a few times a year.

Those things are awesome, I see guys at car shows with them and apparently they were geared to do 60mph in 1st stock!

E46 M3's have great top end. What speed are you thinking of going from? If I were you I'd find a sweet spot in 2nd gear and tell him that if he wants to eliminate the advantage of an AWD launch, then you get to pick the speed. Then go on the second honk too...

Will probably do couple of runs from 2nd gear. There was this one post where this guy had Buschur stage 3/4 and on the track he couldnt pull away from a m3. Could be his driving or the m3 had some mods

I smoked an M3 when my car was stock twice!! But he was catching me towards the very end on the 1/4, so if you guys are going all the way up to 120 I would do a little modding first.

Short of forced induction, modifications on the M3 are waste of time and money for those without obscene levels of disposable income. A full header back exhaust yields about 8hp-12hp. An intake yields another 3hp-5hp. The aftermarket is one thing the Bimmer guys always give plenty of respect to the Evo for.
