New Zealand Evo 2 run a 8.87 @ 164mph

Thought i'd share this with you guys.. a dude in New Zealand just ran this in his blue Evo 2.. HKS T51R, Motec M800 ECU, Methanol, and a custom built dog box.. car still runs 2 litres.

They said this was only on 28psi of boost, and a lazy 1.46 60-foot time.

The Evo has NO rear spoiler at all, a 1 peice carbon nose cone. The earlier Evo rear wings create so much downforce that they become slower.

They are planning on trumping the world record of 8.71, which, when they turn the boost up and get the traction problem down, should be able to do..

Pete.

Yeah, and as far as markets are concerned, 's performing quite well other there. In all of the Asian markets and parts Europe as well. We get left with the mess.

Yup we have a fair few pretty quick imports over here. It seems to be Evos, GTRs and a few rotaries that really dominate the drag racing.

Fast mitsi's in NZ for those who are interested:
Andre Simon Mitsubishi Lancer Evo III 8.87 @ 261kph (163mph)
Zohab Razak Mitsubishi Lancer Evo III 8.95 @ 253kph (159mph)
Brett Lee-Sang Mitsubishi Lancer Evo II 9.89 @ 227kph (141mph)
Trent Davis Mitsubishi Lancer GSR 9.91 @ 240kph (150mph)
Lance Ireland Mitsubishi Mirage RS 4WD 10.53 @ 220kph (136mph)
Simon Steffek Mitsubishi Mirage 10.65 @ 205kph (127mph)
Allister Benson Mitsubishi Lancer GSR 10.85 @ 212kph (132mph)

The mirages all have Evo running gear or at least engines I think.
