Does the EVO have an ignition key sequence that initiates self-diagnosis and ECU code readout?
In my Avenger (mitsu built) you could cycle the key on and off quickly 3 times (with the door ajar) to pull the codes. I've seen Dodge Intrepids do it too, and since they have a digital odometer, the codes are read out on the display (the avenger you had to count blinking CELs)
Does anyone know of something like this for the EVO? or do you all pull codes with an OBD reader? I meant to try it this morning on my car but I forgot and I won't be able to get to the car till 9pm tonite
.
This is more for curiosity's sake than anything else, but let me know if anythign exists.
in the avenger, the sequence was OFF-ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON (turning to on, not start) the cycle needed to be done fast (within 5 seconds) and with the door open

I am aware that these are two very different manufacturers...I was just wondering if any of that collaboration spilled over into Mitsu's production line.
Does anyone know of any self-diagnostic techniques for the EVO?

There is a way to pull the codes, in a blink format, by jumping two ports on your OBDII plug. You basically have to take a piece of metal (paper clip) and bend it so that you connect two of the ports and it initiates a blink sequence. Ufortunately I'm not aware of the ports you need to jump of hand, but I'm sure the information can be found if you look hard enough. Google is your friend!
Hope that helps a little. I'll see if I can find the information while I have some time.
