Race Question

How do you guy's think a stock EVO 8 would do racing a chevelle? I have no idea what year or work that the car might have??? Just a drag race from a dig not a roll.

Well, unless its modified you will kill it. Without knowing about the car there is no way to tell.

if you magazine race it's 0-60 in 5.7 seconds and high 13's low 14's for the 1320 but can trap 110 easily. That's what I read. *shrugs*

The guy is a co worker of mine and has been talking trash lately about how he going to kick my *** in a race. So I was just wondering where I would stand. The only other thing he told me was that he installed a new camgear........I duno. I figure I have a good shot in a quater mile and I should be able to get off the line fast enough while his heavy car sit's there spining it's wheels .

Thanks for the input

we need more information. a buddy of mine from work has a nearly 500hp small block powered chevelle. we also built a 700hp+ big block chevelle at the merchant as well. both of those cars are tucking 315's, which are significantly wider than you got, and good differentials so they can hook up propperly, and can eaisly run mid to low 11's if not faster. just be careful before you run. if the car makes a bunch of noise other than exhuast watch out! let us know how it turns out

all depends... cam'd up... what is the question...
327?
350?
396?
427?
454???
Hydramatic tranny???
muncie 4-spd rock-crusher???
Mickey-T's with Posi-trac???
Long Tube headers???
etc etc...

get us some mod lists on it, and will try to help you out better... it's a lead-sled, but, i've seen them run 10's before with a 396... that was traction limited too...

my dad has a 65 chevelle, and with under 10k (estimate) in mods which include 502 crate motor, comp cam, hooker headers, edelbrock carb, msd ign... and if it could ever hook up, it would be hard to take..
