It was decent, IMO I would probably install a short throw eventually if I were getting one.

In the LA auto show, the damn **** nob in the Evo was stolen by somebody, so I didn't get to feel exactly how the gear shift will be like. But over all the shift was tight and smooth, but feels just a little bit long.

That type of stuff always happens. It kind of bothers me that people are that desperate for a damn shift nob, I mean your car already has a f---ing shift knob and its not like your gonna be the coolest kid around because you have a god damn evo shift knob.

Sorry guys just needed to vent.

I'm pretty sure it's not people stealing the knobs. At the NY Auto show last year every single car that people were permitted to sit in was minus a shift knob. I think the manufacturers take them out themselves because they are aware of the fact that people are prone to stealing them if they are left in the cars. When the shows end they reinstall them so they can comfortably move the cars for shipment.

OK, I really HOPE that was a joke...otherwise I suggest you pretend it was quickly!!!

If it wasn't...you're one of the stupidest people I have come accross in a while. You figure it out.

Obviously, either way, people steal the knobs...if they can...and obviously this one was either stolen or "pre-stolen" to prevent it from being stolen...because ...um...um...um....people steal 'em? (thought you might need some help so you wouldn't lose track)

But now that I know you were only joking with those guys above when you said they're "not too smart", that was a good one I like it!

Not only did the dealers remove the shift knobs from the lancers at the LA auto show, they also took the knobs and dials off of the climate controls.

Must I clarify? Yes people steel knobs (when they have the chance), or anything else for that matter. YES the stuff that mitsu remembers to remove is removed, but this is not the case with everything. NO I'm not an idiot, I could make some dumbass remark and join in the heat but I don't have the time nor the desire to flame to make myself look better, on a forum of all places where you can hide behind the security of your user name. I know someone that stoll a shift knob a few years back so it does happen.

Once again I apologize to everyone who had to read this but this forum is not intended for people to go on and just flame people it is meant to be an informative source where you can shoot the **** about cars, get help with installs/repares or whatever productive activies that go on here but we don't really nead another place where people can just go around taking shots at people or just assuming they know everything and that everyone else that doesn't have the same information that they have is just "not smart". Just be friendly, helpfull and productive and you might make some friends around here.

Yes, we know this.

Anyway, like everyone has said, the knob has been previously removed as a preventitive from it ever getting stolen.

Ummm....that's "too smart" you meant, right?

Ok, Ok...look, I thought I already lambasted this poor sot who called you stupid, No? I'm sure he's just kidding around ( ) and alright, we can all go on from here.

I had no idea about all the knobs getting removed though, either...I think that's pretty sad and that kinda crap pisses me off too.

Do they have to remove shift knobs at auto shows in other countries? I bet they don't have to do that at Japanese auto shows. I'm glad I live in America, but things like this are embarrassing. There are so many selfish and disrespectful people that don't give a crap about property that isn't theirs.

And the manufactureres wouldn't feel the need to remove the knobs if no one stole them, ri?

At the Philly auto shows I used to go to, the knobs were usually NOT removed. They would just crank em on so tight that a person couldn't undo them by hand.

Umm.. If that's the case then how come all the other cars in the Mitsubishi display in the LA auto show have their shift knob in place, only the one in the red Evo is missing? Also how come all the ones in the Nissans, Infinitis, BMWs, etc. are not taken off? There are people that steal stuff in the auto show, you better check yourself before you call other people "not to smart"
