RS - Power (un) locked!

Here are some pics of my RS with aftermarket pwr locks and key less entry that's being hooked upto. Just need to put back the panels back on.

Tested with the wires connected and remote and pwr lock/unlock mechanisms worked great! Just need to work the details and take time mounting the actuator motors.

Made sure to run the harness through the rubber boots on the doors, I'll have to drill holes on the rears.

I can live w/o pwr windows but w/o pwr locks and remote entry - I could not. Major pita w/ passengers. My evo's constantly taken apart, one of these days it will be clean and complete...

hahaha, you brought it back from the grave! I thought nobody would appreciate it!

it's Blackwidow actuators and remote control unit hooked up together.

Feel free to shoot any questions! Only thing left is finding a pair of rear rubber door boots to pass the wires...

I'm gonna do this eventually too. I've heard Clifford makes a great universal power conversion. What brand is yours and how much did the hardware cost?

brand is 'Black Widow' for both the motor actuators and remote lock controller. Both cost me about $70 from etronics.

Did you weigh the hardware before you put it in?

huh, weight it on scale? To minimize weight? no. but it probably weighted no more than 5 lbs total.

for me, this is far more valuable than opening locks manually for all 4 corner...PITA!!!

Cool. I just wanted an estimate. At 5 lbs, I think I might look into it, but if they weighed 50, I'd say no way.

cheers

Now you should do a write up and put it in the "how to" section

two separate things that I got was:
- acturators w/ central locking mechanism ( this allows you to open and control all door locks from your driver side)
- keyless entry (allows you to remotely unlock/lock)

for some reason, I could'nt use both the central locking and remote. so, central locking lossed out...

but, I'm too lazy todo a writeup...

pics on the first post above...actually, it cost about $75 or so for both parts - actuators plus keyless entry. Cheap parts but a lot of labor of luv - took about 4 hours or so just to figure it out. But, as you see I did the research already and it works!!!

GL, feel free to shoot questions...

How did the door panel fit back on once you had everything installed? were there issues with it being a tight fit and not unlocking (or locking) the door properly?
