I read somewhere on a website....they said since the evolution VIII is gonna be a hit.....they can't wait for the next evolution.

It would be nice but I doubt it. Since its rumored that Mitsu will switch platforms for the WRC, there isnt much reason for an Evo series anymore. Hell, ours isnt even titled the "8", its just "Evolution".

 

Maybe I'll just get me a evolution VIII then. I dont know. If they come out with the evolution 9...and it looks better and better improved ill be pissed.

Don't see why not as long as they continue with the WRC, but they don't seem to go to well it that since Mackinen changed to Subaru. As long as they don't bring it out staight away.

someone on the forum like a few weeks ago said that the rumor in japan is that the mitsu/colt platform will take over wrc and the evo will continue until evolution X since the evo still sells well. According to an announcement from Ralliart Europe, for wrc 2004 their still planning to use the lancer evolution since the mitsu/colt car isn't going to be finished by that time.

 

how much was the wooden car going for? i don't see it on ebay

 

1) Rumor just rumor now.... the "Lancer Evolution" will continue until the " X" version.
2) is hoping to be ready for the 2004 WRC season. Whether the Ralliart engineers can get the Colt-based platform ready or not will still yet to be seen.
3) "Evolution" is not just the Lancer based platform. We have "Evolution" tagged Pajero too, which compete truck class series...most famous being the Dhakarta?? I can't rember the spelling...(the that start in Europe and races across N. Africa)
4) The "Evolution" tagged Colt-based car is rumored to debut sometime this summer. Probably before the last fiscal quarter.
side note* The new colt is a German/Japanese design....RALLIART is mostly a German/Japanese engineering team!..see where I'm gomig with this 's new WRC car should be very interesting

I am also wondering about this. And if it does, will they take out the Lancer Evolution? My guess would be no, they still need to go against the STi which is a sedan. The Colt Evolution and the STi would have nearly seperate crowds attracted to it.

I have only seen pics once off of a thread on www.dsmtalk.com ... the Colt looked killer!!!

 

They potentially will bring out the Colt as a side car to the EVO. We will then have our EVO sedan, and a Colt Hot Hatch!!!

that would be cool if they replaced the lancer evo with the colt evo, the two extra doors in the back are a waste, add extra weight and make it less rigid.
