We run Methanol in our SBC dragster and to "Kill" the breath-robbing intensity of the fumes from the headers, alot of folks use a Scent to fool your nose. WE used to use a Cherry scent but got away from it, now all we use is a top end lube that is cherry flavored (mmmmm Koolaid).
Its a treat for the senses to walk through the staging lanes and smell everything from Cinnamon buns to watermelon to bananna to grape, etc.
The funny thing about those scents is when you go to freshen or repair your engine, the whole thing smells of that particular scent.
And early in the morning, esp. Cinnamon, makes you hungry!!
