Open Header?

hey i was under my car today and was wondering what it would be like to run an evo open header, i've heard it on a corolla and holy...that thing was LOUUD. Does it free up hp due to no backpressure? im sure it would mess with the idle.

At MIR a civic blew up at the line, and I heard that he was running like that. Totally caught on fire... poor kid.

I've ran open downpipe and no muffler and those were both loud enough for me...

I dyno next Saturday with my custom fabricated 2-way electronic dump valve downpipe... which lets me dump exhaust gases to the atmosphere half-way into the 3" downpipe.

Hopefully, I'll get a few pulls in so I can dyno with the valve closed (using 3" downpipe and stock cat-back w/ cat)... and dyno w/ it open... and dyno at different boost levels. I can't wait!
