There will be no Evo commercial during the Superbowl...

...according to Automotive News. Not big news, but it has been a rumor for some time now on these forums. Maybe Mitsu doesn't think that the Fast and the Furious crowd will be watching the Superbowl?

The Chrysler brand and Cadillac Division will be the only two automakers advertising during ABC's coverage of Super Bowl XXXVII on Sunday, Jan. 26.

Chrysler will air two 60-second commercials and one 30-second spot to the tune of pop star Celine Dion. Chrysler last advertised during the Super Bowl in 1996. Cadillac returns from last year's game with a 90-second spot and a 30-second spot featuring the CTS, Escalade, SRX and XLR.

The average cost of a 30-second commercial during this year's Super Bowl is $2.1 million, according to Advertising Age, a sister publication to Automotive News.

Who cares. We already know about the car. We don't need no stinking commercials!

Wasn't planning to anyway I don't think that'd be very cost-effective for a semi limited production car.

im just going to try to keep the hope up a bit here ...heh
the neon is made by dodge, which is pretty close with chrysler, right? isnt the neon supposed to share the same chassis of the redesigned lancer in 2004(5?)? maybe thats mitsubishi's sneaky way of keeping the fanatics on their seats, watching their every move!

....or they feel no need to advertise because its already made its debut at the auto shows and is in limited production, so they thought they'd let the hardcore lancer-ers buy them...

ok...why would Mitsu need to have commercials for the Evo at all? The cars are going to be bought mostly by car enthusiasts, who aren't looking at the TV to tell them what their next car purchase should be.

I think Mitsu realizes they will need no advert help to sell their Evos...and if the help is not needed, they certainly won't be spending the millions on ONE Superbowl TV spot.

I was looking forward to a commercial, and now I have absolutely no reason to watch it.. I'll just go out driving instead now

because this is mitsu's top performance car and would help give them a name/boost sales of all the cars in the entire lineup

It dont have to be a 100% evo but would be nice to see the evo with other cars in the lineup

kinda like the commercial with the E6 with the "get what you give" song

Here's a thought: the 2Fast 2Furious Trailer will probably be premiering tonight. I'd put money on it. Why couldn't it be a combo Mitsu/2F2F?

thats silly. i mean they are airing a fast and the furious 2 trailer during the superbowl. it would only make sense to toss in an evo ad
