What do you think is better?

 

I've had both on my old WRX. I really liked the ES100's. R1 nice to. R1 was a little quiter on freeway. I say go ES100's.

 

es100, is good, but loud, and it wears out like crazy, wont hold on corners.

they lasted me 14000 miles.

i would say go with something else.

 

what other tires are around that same performance and price?

 

is this a choice??? ra-1's are far better than es100

 

I keep hearing that the toyo's wear really really funny, Is this true?

 

I just saw in consumer reports that the Falken Azenis St115 is the best rated performance tire.... Strange! I did not think that Falken was that great...

 

I had the ES100s on my SE-R and was very disappointed with them. They are typical of the slogan "you get what you pay for".

ES100 is probably the worst "performance" tire from Yoko. It's loud, wears faster than it should be PLUS pure suckness on the track. Go with Kumho MX or Azenis...can go wrong with those 2. I cannot comment on RA-1 since I've never tried but from what I hear, it's good. Again, ES100 sucks!!!

 

The Ra-1's are R-Compound for racing so have much better traction, go with the Advans if your looking for similar performace from Yoko

 

ES100 sucks! I have it on my car and can't wait to get another set of tires.

i had my st115's for a while now and they handle good specially on wet.dont go with the es100 man not unless youre really broke

 

your comparing very different tires the ES100 is a street tire(that doesnt get very good reviews)and RA1 is a track tire(wich is awesome AT THE TRACK)
If your in the market for a street tire i would get the Advans,the BFG KD,or the toyo T1-S
if your getting a track tire the RA1 are the biggest bang for your buck compared to other R compound options
but if you think the ra1 is gonna last (on street)your gonna be in for a shock
my RA1 were down to the cords in four track days!!
