I agree w/ not doing 150 in a 55 but let's admit that cops profiling us started before the car even hit the street. The car is flashy no matter how you look at it, cops profile civics and integra's, they're definatly going to do it on evo's no matter what.

For the money you are wasting on tickets you could be smart and get a Valentine. Then all you have to worry about is Lazer. Its the best 400 buck mod you can buy in my book.

1; stupid people shpuld not drag race... 2; your lucky, now that i think of it our state law changed awhile back, you could go to jail for anything over 50 mph over the posted limit.. 31 over the limit is an automatic 15 day suspension... im not going to preach to you cause i have done 189 on my bike on 380 north.. but no one was on the road when i did it... oh and a poss. d.u.i. i passed the sob. tests, but the cop had a hardon for me.. cause i was driving my audi... but on the plus side he didnt have prob cause to pull me over...time will tell if i have to sell my car cause of this... i will say if your going to screw around, be smart about it... oh and people we are all guilty of speeding or racing one time or another... so dont be a hippocrates... bring on the flaming

Huh - I'm getting rid of my Evo because:

1) I'm tired of seeing the CHP and every other local sherrif's dept ghosting me three to six cars back nearly every time I go out.

2) I'm tired of getting pulled over while getting passed by idiots on cell phones in SUV's with 30" dubs going 90+ all the time.

3) There's no point having a fast car you can't drive fast.

I COMPLETELY agree that going 157 gets you what you get, but almost every road in the country has a surveyed safe speed faster than the posted limit. Granted - idiotic driving behavior on the part of other cars with wings may have swayed the attitude of the California cops, but what can you do? I give up. I bought a Starion to tool around in and it so far seems invisible.

You need to learn how to choose your battles. Most Evo owners laugh at Talons or Civics who want to race. You took the bait and got busted. You should race cars that are worth the risk, like an M3 or somebody in a V8.

I skipped to the end to add my .02. Did you post your age?

Cause? What cause, exactly? Please explain.

I drove that Cuda like crazy for over 10 years and every time I got pulled over they let me go NO ticket. More than once I got pulled over just so they could ask me about the car. Maybe the budget crises here changed things, but the CHP know which cars are quick - and the Evo made that list.

The last CHP that pulled me over told me:

"I pulled you over because I know these all wheel drive cars are fast"

He gave me a ticket anyway.

How old is this dude? i had some bad times with getting tickets last year, nothing as bad as this but still way too many...but speeding is a true addiction, you must overcome it and move on
