Few Questions regarding camgear cover and sprayer

Ok first question...

is it safe to have the cam gear cover removed? My cover has a small crack on it and it looks pretty nasty.is it safe to run it uncovered cuz i've seen some evos with them removed after putting on HKS cam gears. BTW: running stock cam gears.

Another question is...how much does the IC sprayer resovoir weigh on empty and is it safe to take it off that it doesnt throw a CEL? Also, does it bring more air to the intake filter on aftermarket intake

is the magnesium valve cover powdercoated or painted? is it safe to paint?

You can take the gear cover off aslong as you keep all the wires away from the gears. I don't know how much the IC sprayer weighs, but taking it out doesn't throw a CEL. My intake is stock, but I would think that it could help alittle. Don't know about the valve cover.

Yes it is safe to take the cam gear cover off. Allthou, if yours is cracked i would try to figure out why it cracked before taking it off

The stock valvecover is painted..... and yes its safe to paint. I've painted a bunch of them. It looks great every time !!

thanks! ok btw: my hood vent is open, it just has the grill and no slanted heat guide, will that affect the cam gears: if rain would slide that way?
