HIDs from eBay

Lookin at upgrading the stock HIDs from my EVO to a slightly higher color temp. I saw some decent prices for D2S replacement bulbs for between $105-$140 for a pair. This sounds a little inexpensive compared to some other websites. Are they crap? Anybody have any they got off ebay?

What about the ones on this website?

Click on D2R D2S Bulbs on the left...

d2s from what i remember, had some issues back in the days.

something about them not lasting a long time or having a different gas inside the bulb or something.

is there a d1s?

DS2 is the bulb size that's in our Evo's right now, so if you are to replace them, get size DS2.

The ONLY brands I recommend for HID bulbs and HID ballasts are the following (not 100% sure if they make a bulb size DS2 however): Philips, Raybrig, Sylvania, PIAA.

PIAA's HID bulbs were newly released btw, so check them out on their site.

I checked out PIAA's website, but i don't think they have any upgraded normal driving light bulbs, but they have them for the high-beams and the fog lamps. I would worry first about upgrading the fog lamps cause they ruin the color scheme of the low beams. The HID's are a nice blue, but the fogs are an ugly white.

Ah, ok, I see what you mean. Yeah, PIAA is sometimes a little slow on their updates.

Here is an application guide for D2S and D2R HID bulbs: D2S/D2R Application Guide

LOL! Yeah... very true. For car parts, you really get what you pay for, so if you buy cheap, you get cheap (hook-ups are an exception).

BTW, I'm also from Boston .

I live in Quincy, just 7 miles south of Boston . First person to own an Evo there and I think one of the first two to own one in Boston. I did see a white Evo around Boston a couple of times, maybe one of them was you. Sorry, a little off topic here, lol!

*ahem* now, back to them HIDs...

Odd, the correct bulb for the EVO foglights are H11. PIAA has them incorrectly marked as H7.
