Evo info needed, enlighten me
Hey guys, sup, just got *****ed at on the WRX forum for askin about WRXs cuz they claim im young and immature. Just because im young doesnt mean im immature. I asked them what they thought about WRXs as far as reliablity and driveablity, and modabilty. They relplied with your too young to get a WRX, get somethin like a civic or an srt-4  Actually they basically made fun of there own cars by basically tell me they suck. Im almost 17 and im lookin for a car. The WRX guys whined at me about how the subies cant take the abuse of dropping the clutch since that what "ALL kids do," and how i was too immature for WRXs, so i said, im goin to the evo forum.
So, now im here. I was wonderin what the evos are like. I mean, i know nothin can outhandle them and they are pretty fast. How about reliability and driveablity? Im not lookin for a car to go light to light with, just somethin fun to drive with a stick. Mabe the occastional track session or drift or even a local rallie or two. Finally, what about the turbo lag, Ive heard its awful. If there is any other importan info about evos, post it o please. I hope yins end up bein cooler than those Subie guys
thanks for the help

Not to be a dick, but I know if I had an evo when I was 16 I would be dead. Get something you wouldnt be mad if you messed it up, something to learn on and get expierence with. The Evo is much more than just buy it and drive it. Maintaince is expensive as ****, I can barely afford it! I dont know about everyone else, but I dont recommend the evo for a first car, nor for anyone who has a lack of expierence. I say start out with something cheap that you can modify and make your own.
I am not going to be cool. There is no reason a 16 year old kid should be having an EVO as a first car. And honestly, its not for your own sake, its for the sake of others on the road. This is one ****ing HELL of a car and isnt to be taken lightly. Same with the WRX. Do you ever wonder why there are a ****-ton of wrecks with these cars? They are hard to control and will go nuts if not handled properly.
Please think of OTHERS on the road. You can claim how responsible you are, but you are going to want to open the EVO up and push it to the limit at times, if you are not 100% secure in handling the car then you are endangering not only yourself, but others on the road, and thats the facts. Experience is needed to drive this car, period.
I will offer you this though: Why not a used manual 240SX? They are a fun and powerful ride without being too over the top. They are very responsive to mods and a lot can be done to them, including engine swaps. They would be a great first car.
Again, not trying to be an *******, but this is the reality of it all. Look on the first page, there are about 2 or 3 threads about totalled EVOs and most of these guys are probably more experienced than you.
Just take it easy, you are young and without lots of experience.
Also, how the HELL would you afford a 30,000$ car plus gas plus maintenance? If you got loaded parents, that's cool. But this is NOT a cheap car.

"I hope yins " huhu...wow. I haven't heard anyone say 'yins' since I lived in State College, PA! I guessing you are from Western or Central PA....
I would suggest that you read the forums a bit before you post anything else. The questions you asked have been answered many times over.
And since you made a big deal about your age, others will too.
Closing this before the flames get too hot.
