EVO Quirks

Well ever since Ive had my MR I have enjoyed every minute of it. However while driving I have noticed a few things that bugged me. The first thing was the creaking noise in the A-pilllar. The second thing is the squeaking in the brakes.
These two things I have read that many people have a problem with. I have yet to have my first service and I plan to bring up these issues to the dealer. However, I have one thing that Im not sure if it is correct or not. I know our cars are handling machines. But is it just my car that feels every nook and cranny in the road. I mean any type of dips gaps lines my car drags with it. I have to always hold onto the steering wheel in fear of my car gripping some big pot hole. I was just wondering if this is normal. Input plz.

Well when my car was 2 days old I put it on a alighnment rack and it was way off.
Corrected the alighnment and the car is much better. Also the Advan tires have the pulling
in the rut affect. My 19" wheels I put the Toyo T1s and the rut problem was cured.

It's because of the advans. R-Compounds tend to do that, there is a name for that term but I forget what its called. Tramlining or something

being that the steering is so responsive, I'd say that's the trade off for having the wheels track on everything in the road. I'd say it's normal, though I'm no guru. My car does it too. I also have squeeky brakes.

Brembos squeak all the time, especially when cold or going into reverse. Just the price you pay for having REAL brakes, hehe. Get used to it, man.

well sorry bro but its only the MR edition that feels like that because your car has upgraded bilstien suspension. you can always get aftermarket coils and adjust the dampening force.

nah im not saying its a bad thing. Im saying its bad that I gotta keep worrying about it gripping every nook but im not saying the handling is bad. and no buddy this isnt even my daily driver. I just take it out when I feel like going fast and using its "supercar" abilities.

MR's bilsteins are actually less stiff than regular evo8. so the ride in your car is actually a lil bit softer. i got used to mine, i'm sure you will too. the rest of the things you mentioned is common. i didn't even bother telling the service department about rattling and squeaking, don't care, plus it can't really be fixed. this ain't no lux car. yes, you will need to drive with both hands on bumpy roads and highways that have grooves from trucks. considering the steering ratio is so quick, you should keep both hands on the wheel anyways. and don't sneeze while u drive, might skip a few lanes other than that, have fun

it's not really 8.5. we should call it what it is called by mitsu: evo 8 MR
bilstein shocks are softer, that's just how they're tuned. this makes for a more comfortable ride and holds the road better on bumps. so overall handling is better. don't think that just because it's MR, everything has to be more power, stiffer, lighter, etc compared to '04 GSR

you should always hold onto the steering wheel, regardless of what car you're driving.

but the rest, yep. mine's 2 1/2 weeks old, just over 1000 miles, brakes used to squeek bad early, but now it's kinda few and far between when they're warm and you're in light braking situations (stop and go traffic).

Brakes have a squeek at slow/traffic speeds and a slight a-pillar tick (which my 03 GSR had the first winter and went away when it warmed up out side).
I have to say the Bilsteins are a bit scarry at first- compared to the 03 GRS- but now-Yummy! The corners I take at 60-70 in the twisties going home have risen to 65-75 without a blink of an eye.
