Quick question

I know to some this may sound like a dumb question. But I always wondered. What exactly is an oil catch can for? Its not something you install in your car rite? Just wondering.

Not only in the car, but under the hood! It "catches" all the oil blowby from the pcv, used more along the lines of a safety precaution, no real power gains.
