Which Wires On Radio Harness for....

which wires on radio harness are for 12v ignition and illumination?
12v constant is the red/black wire right?

and where is the ground???

I was wiring up my defi control unit and it worked the first time but then when I was putting everything back it stopped working
so Im just going to use the wires on the radio harness instead of the wires of the cig lighter AND the radio harness
this is for an 05 EVO....dont know if the wiring is different or not

oh and for the bf boost gauge
when at idle and reving it should the gauge read boost or go up to 0?
cuz thats what mine was doing

TIA

I just took a nut and blot and attached the ground to a hole in the metal frame of the dash. You can also attach the ground to the metal side of the radio.

I found a complete install guide and then found that the wire colors were different.
Just use a volt meter -- it is easy to identify which wire is which.

My accessory gauge pack came grounded with the screw that holds the gauge panel in place in the dash. Basically you can ground anywhere there's bare frame metal.

Your boost gauge should read about -20 inHg (whatever that is in metric units) at idle and up to 0 psi/bar at open-throttle when not in gear.

Mine was wired to the stereo but I don't know which wires it is. If you still need them by tonight I can take a look when I get home.

im not sure which wire is which...but there is one really easy thing u can do...go to best buy...but the harness for lancer...plug it in to ur radio harness...and they have the wires labeled...and just match the pin and find out...and then u can just return the harness...u can open it but u cant remove the trimmed wires...or if u can wait a week or so im gonna get the harness for my lancer and they are all the same as far as i know and ill let u know

That's a good idea. Mine are actually spliced into the harness. You could also just keep the harness and splice into it to keep from damaging your car's wiring. The harnesses can't be that expensive and it will make it easier to return the car to stock if you need to (to sell or whatever).
