There are a gazillion scammers on ebay. I was selling some 350Z track wheels and tires for like $2000. Guy bids on it. Then says he is in Singapore, and his American agent is gonna give me a Cashiers check for $4,500, and I just have to give him change (wire it to Nigeria) and ship the wheels.

This smelled like rotten fish to me, and sure enough it was. I told him no, I can only accept the exact purchase price via PayPal, and I never heard from him again. Fortunately I sold the wheels to a genuine buyer not long after.

Feedback means nothing. Look at this message. He tells you to email another email address instead of the one listed with ebay.

Once you email that new address this is the part where they try and hook people for the money.

They pretty much hacked/stole the account they are using to the evo on thus reflecting the feedback. Accounts get stolen daily from ebay scams.

 

Anyone catch how it says that he's located in the USA.....that narrows it down a bit. Obviously no one is falling for this gy's BS cause he's got 2 days left and 0 bids. And how does he expect mitsu to honor the warranty if he's got a freakin race pipe on there.......unless he's in a state that doesn't require emissions. Any ways, I'm gonna send him and e-mail and see what he has to say about the rediculously low price, that is, if he even responds!

 

I believe thats a scam because b4 i bought my EVO for 20G's this guy tried to sell me a white evo with 15000miles for $10,800 it was on Cars.com. He was asking me 2 send 2,000 dollars and he would deliver the car. I said no way! I see the car first then i might give you a $5 bill. He said he was on vacation. I was like uh..... this is BS. SCAM SCAM SCAM!

 

OMG....the sad part is that if you do crap like this, there's always the slim chance that some poor teenager with his head in the clouds is gonna bite. People like this need to be tracked down by the FBI and do serious prison time. I wish we had a system which vigorously pursued and prosecuted scams. This one is really blatant...but there are a lot which aren't so blatant. Makes me not want to buy anything too valuable on Ebay...even though I've always had good luck with it.

 

I just think they should be shot... but then again, thats just me

When I was looking for my Evo I saw one on eBay that looked familiar. It was for sale in Pennsylvania on cars.com, but the eBay one (same pictures) was supposedly in England or Italy with some sob story how he couldn't get it registered and was selling it for not much more than the shipping cost back to the US. I contacted eBay and it got pulled.
