hey im deciding whether i should get a carbon fiber hood or not. i cant really make up my mind. a part of me doesnt want to get it but another part of me wants to. let me get some feedback from other evo owners. do you think it will look nice on the graphite gray color?

 

not sure - havent seen a gg with a carbon fiber hood.

Do you just want feedback on the look, or are you interested in the performance gains as well?

The stock hood is aluminum, so you're not going to get huge gains by switching to carbon. I saw a post somewhere of a guy who's painted carbon fibre hood actually weighs _more_ than stock.

I think its more of a look thing. I have a WW Evo and will be getting a CF hood in a few months. I think it looks trick. Just my 2 cents.

 

Some like the look -- I personally don't think the cost is worth the look. Like they said above -- it actually weighs more. Not a very cost-effective purchase i'd say

I have mine on a silver car, and love it! I have mostly gotten great comments except for a few people who thought it looked like I needed a new part and was unable to afford the cost of repainting. Those people who didn't like it had never heard of carbon fiber, and thought it was painted black (obviously I don't repect their opinions too much). I say go for it, but make sure you have a experinced person to help you install because some hoods have fitment issues.

 

I think replacing an aluminum hood with CF is silly. What's next? Replace the forged BBSs with spinners?

Im thinking of doing the same thing. Because of the chips im getting for some reason. Its just starting to bug me. But yea plz post pics.
