Got pulled over last week and cop let me go, told him the plate was in the trunk if he wanted to see it, and that I parked the car in a lot it got ripped off by the cement block in front of the parking space. I have the plate still attached to the bracket.

Yup here in chicago you'll get a ticket even if you car is parked at Ohare airport for no front plates on the bumper. I see rentacops writing tickets for no front plates every monday morning when i park there. I even got a ticket for putting the plates up on the dash at one point, so i said screw it and left it on the front bumper.

2 b honest...that depends on the cops...cops in my town can care less if u flew at 55 in a 35 limit...as long as its not in front of a store, village hall, school, or any public places like parks...but neighboring towns...cops are total @$$es...my co-worker got pulled over for going 3 over the limit...how gay is that???...and the judge threw it out saying "Officer you have more important work to do than pull ppl going 3 over"

Bummer. Usually cops in H-town are busy and have more important things to do, but it is coming up on the end of the month and they do have those quotas to make... If you just put it on and show the judge pictures, I'm almost certain they will dismiss you with a $10 'court fee' charge( at least, that's what happened to me several years ago ).

again, depends on what state...here in TX the law is very specific about where you put it...ie, in the front window is not legal. All depends on the cop though.

tell him your plate bracket broke and you're unable to put on your plate. you plan on getting it fixed soon...its believable too because the bracket is sooooo flimsy as it is lol such junk, ive seen them just fall of of cars...which could be another excuse in itself

3 tickets for the same thing, I think the judge is going to start wondering why you are not fixing your problem. You have to consider what the reasonable person would do if he was cited 3 times for the same violation. You can use whatever excuse you want, but I think the judge is going to see right through it.

The best thing to do is put that license plate on, this will give the Texas cops less reasons to stop you and possible look for things such as mods, which could end up costing you some real money...

exactly. it's required for a reason. 1)this gives the radar gun an area to reflect off of. 2)sometimes cops need to see what the plate # is on the front (if say, the guy is running from them while driving backwards like in 2f2f ) all the various DOT laws are there for various reasons and they don't care how good/bad your car looks. imo it doesn't look bad, it's kinda unique being on the side
