^ they should, besides cams and perhaps engine management... just remember that the IX had MIVEC. and since the IX doesn't have AYC and only ACD, the transfercase size should be the same as hte '05 VIII's.

Are you for sure on that? Unless the prices go up to current MR premiums.. Mitsubishi will NOT put lighter BBS wheels on a GSR if they plan to keep it costing below $35K.

There was a thread showing pics of JDM Evo 9's on track with the STi and current MR and the Evo 9 had some nice stock Enkei(?) wheels that looked like the BBS wheels, split spoke design, but silver and not anthracite colored.

You mean you found more pics of the evo 9. Look at the license plate in the last pic. EVO IX

Nope, I was wrong. Those were suppposed to be a "confirmed" rumore, whatever that means.

THe specs have been released. There will be an RS, GSR, and MR version.

For all those who waited, you get an ugly front bumper and MIVEC that gives you all of 10hp and 3tq. Boy oh boy. Oh, and a new compressor cover. Big whoop.

You are not looking at the possibilities there, my friend! the front bumper looks a little better than current one, but the MIVEC potential, once tuners learn it, would be crazy! Think of the fact that 03-04 Evos were making less "stock" power than 05 Evos with just the 10.5 housing.

The question is how well will the MIVEC respond to camming? And personally, I hate the look of the new front. I hate the Gialla bumper ergo I hate the IX front bumper. Just my opinion. Looks "ricery," if that's even a word.

moab3man,

Hate to break it to you, but I'm not a hater. Go back and check some of my posts. I guess that would make you ignorant.

IICR, AVCVS gave a lot of people trouble on the Subarus. DO they even make cams for the EJ20 & 25?

Yeah I think they do make cams for the EJ20 (JUN, Tomei...), but not sure on the current USDM Sti engine. Newer engine and tuners have still yet to really learn it, or so i've read, too. We are the only ones (U.S.) who get the 2.5L STi engine...good thing? bad thing? you can never make everyone happy. but it's here...

We shall see about the Evo 9 though. I still would really consider trading in my Evo 8 for the 9, even just for the "nose job".

USDM Evo 9 MR

so the US trim levels are correct.
RS, GSR and MR
Sounds a little bit irish to me considering, but whatever floats the boat
I still think they should have made it consistent with JDM trim levels to avoid confusion. RS, GT and GSR
Well to answer your questions about the lights.
They are smoked bezels, just look very carefully, as I said in the Evo 9 High res pics thread, they are black chromed, as opposed to Flat black, but I guess that is not good enough for some of you, they just don't have the amber pieces on the bottom, which is stupid if you ask me cause there is still an orange colored bulb in there,

The rear bumper
I happen to like the USDM bumper, but it would have been nice to have the rear diffuser like JDM and UK spec 9's get, I guess not this time.
I would also liked to have seen S-AYC but once again I think that is partly due to the US getting the bigger fuel tank and the Emissions restraints that is the reason why they did away with the Charge cooler spray for the 05's
I would also liked to have seen the narrow Recaro bases as opposed to the Fat *** American ones, but at least the Upholstered trim will change.
and last but not least the HVAC controls, I would liked to have seen the Auto Climate controls, instead of them using up the remains of their evo 7 mouldings and forcing them on the US market.

It just seems stupid to me to Go ahead and make a production run for Australia, UK, Japan & surrounding countries, and then after they have achieved their production numbers for those countries, change tooling to produce the US changes, surely it would be cost productive if they kept it the same.
Well that is all I have to say on this crap.
Will have to see if the new Chassis change for the 10 can give the U.S. what it wants.

I would have liked slimmer seats as well, but how many people wouldn't get one because of small seats? It's not viable.
