Two completly unrelated questions, but I need help

ok question one:
For those of you who have the stock head unit and speakers, how high can you safely turn up the volume and not blow anything?

and question two:
Im planning on trying to install my boost gauge this weekend, I have found a good install on that, but I want to install it to an A-pillar pod. How do I take the one that is there off, and where do I run the wires to get them to go up the new pod? Or is this best left to a shop to install?

I have the SSL package - that Infinity system you crank a good ways before you get any distortion...in fact, I don't recall hearing any unless it's a radio broadcast -- Cd's and XM Radio are clean.

I have a BF boost gauge. So I mounted the control box in the glove box (drilled whole in the side towards the bottom), then ran the wire through the space above the center console under the dash all the way to the driver side. Then with the door open on the driver side I removed the access panal and ran the wire up through the little gap at the base of the a-pillar pod.

1) i run the stock system on the '05 at 30 (bass +2,treble +6).

2) pull the stock a-pillar off from the top then swivel it towards you as you pull it off. there are prongs that go down into the dash that are attached to the a-pillar. you will have to run the wiring up thru the side of the dash. pull off the side covers on the sides where the door touches the dash for more access. that is where i stuck my xovers for my component speakers.
