Long term storage

I'm might be going out of country for a yr and wants to store my evo. I'm either going to disconnect the battery or have someone start it up and let it sit for a bit once a month. Is there anything else special i need to do to prep the car for storage?

The car needs to be driven at least once every 2 weeks so the car doesn't sit on one spot of the tires for a long time.

is it going to be in a garage? you can always leave it propped up on some jackstands so the tires aren't on the ground.

I would do a good dose of fuel stabilizer in the gas, making sure the tank is full to prevent condensation within the tank.
Also a little jetski trick when laying up for the winter: remove plugs and squirt some engine oil into the cylinders (maybe a teaspoon or so) then hit the starter with the plugs out to distribute the oil over the cylinders. Caution: I don't know about evo ignition, you might have to ground the plugs or disconnect the coil to avoid damage to the ignition system.

If you are going to have someone start it regularly, you wouldn't need to do the oil trick.
And, btw, the worst thing is for it to just sit. It does need to be driven occasionally. but being suspended off the ground is the next best thing. (IMO)
