Everyone thats posting back seems to like the leather, but the cloth still has more votes. I think if it was a nicer cloth then maybe I'd like it too but I dont really like the design all that much, but I guess ill need to see a GG MR with the cloth to compare.

leather needs to be treated once every couple months to prevent the cracking...afterall it is the skin of some animal...i don't mind doing it because it always looks SUPER when it's all done. Plus i think it smells good.

Had cloth and leather

Hi! I had an Evo VIII black w/cloth and now have a El Blue VIII with SSL. The cloth is indeed "grippier" which is both good and bad. Driving on mountain roads, I like to be able to shift ever so slightly in my seat to look ahead or around. No, you don't slide in the leather, but you can shift or move a bit easier. The back seat does slide a bit. As far as interior, I liked the blue/black combo with the black Evo, but the leather would look snazzier and more in tune. I didn't like the texture of the center panel of the cloth as much, as another mentioned.
For heat concerns, get tinted windows ASAP - it makes a big difference. Love the graphite gray MR, don't like the rims either. Too frilly, not bold.
Sunroof is nice, and the HID headlights are very useful. It probably comes down to availability and price. Since my Evo is my daily driver, having an MR might be more of a target with those rims, having Bilstein shocks is better for comfort, but there is an advantage in "feeling the road" where I live.
I've had leather on my Eclipse for 2 years in SoCal, and it's held up fine without special treatment save a full service carwash every couple of months, and don't have tinted windows on that car.

Honestly, even if the Leather does get cracked the cloth will get all stained and ****ed up so they are both even. I wish I could get an MR with leather or a Evo VII with Graphite Grey.

Exactly. Heat and cold. Your *** will sweat in the summer and your ***** will freeze in the winter. Plus it's slippery. And the guys who aren't sliding on leather are driving way too slow.

leather isn't just for luxury cars. Why do corvettes have leather? If they were REAL race cars wouldn't evo's be a little more stripped out than they are? I think if you are a serious racer you're going to rip out everything that's stock anyway.

How much slipping and sliding is there to do during a drag race anyway? As for autox, i do it and there are a lot of lateral g's, more than street driving if you're being safe, and i don't slip. c'mon cody how cold does it really get here in texas? As for the heat some excellent tint(ie huper optik or formula pinnacle) and putting the window shades up keeps the leather cool.

That honestly is one of the stupidest generalities i've ever read. DOES IT MATTER IF MY CAR IS 0-60 in .01 seconds? Just becuase your car has more comfortable seats doesnt mean it takes away anything from its "racecarness". I garuntee you in a few years if it takes that long the MR will have leather, it doesnt make any sense on why not.
I dont know how you guys make up **** like that in your head.
