Thanks for all the help... I got a BBY and was trying to figure out what color would look the most fresh....

Classic Black

Silver

What do you think of making a fake ralli art? Do you just order a ralliart sticker and use it as the template?

I have a BBY also and left mine black for the symmetry: Black spot on hood (vent), black spot on roof (sunroof), and black spot on trunk (wing).

If I were you though I'd start out silver because I think you want to experiment. And if you don't like it silver you can just repaint it black or even try out different colors.

i think its stainless steel underneath. cause i scraped the black off with a wire pad, and it has rained on it a bit since. no rust, just looks metalic.

the vent is made of aluminum. I repainted mine with a Silver high head engine paint. I didnt clear coat it or anything. Doesnt chip, doesnt come off, stands up to rain and snow and so on.

Even if it is covered under warranty it will do it again. It did it on my red Evo and my black one. I painted mine with Dupont Imron gloss black both times.

Let me tell you the factory coating is a royal paint in the *** to get off.You can't sandblast it cause the metal is so thin and will distort. You'll be there till the second coming of christ if you try to sand it off. The only thing I found that would touch it was aviation stripper.

I would just take that piece to a body shop and ask them what they would charge to prep and paint it.
