What's up guys...i was thinking, what could we do in order to lighten up our Evo? (Aside from removing the wheel/jack/passengers!) I know that shaving 100 pounds tradionally knocks off a 1/10 in the quarter mile it might be worthwile to remove some stuff. Any ideas??

This has been covered a couple times...so do a search for more info. There are TONS of ways to lighten the car though...depending on how extreme you want to go. Exhaust drops quite a few lbs off the car. If you get the REAL CF stuff, you can drop a few lbs as well (not the fiberglass wrapped stuff...especially hood.) There are some wheels that are a bit lighter as well...if you live in an area that doesn't need AC..well, drop that. HID stuff can go too. It can get pretty silly as you can remove back seats, carpet...blah blah blah. My dad and I ended up with a 944 turbo that was a full stree-legal race car based on this concept...

If you're worried about 1/4 mile times..drop some of the easy weight, then it's probably cheaper to add the power and work on driving skill. Unless you're getting silly...and if you strip it out to make a full-on race car...post pics.

If you're out of ways to reduce the weight of the vehicle (restricted by car class rules, comfort, etc) the easiest way to shed pounds, is to shed pounds. hit the bike to ride to the store instead of taking the Evo. My info is that every 3# = 1 HP

I got a CF bumper. Losing the front crash bar was a lot of weight. also the stock bumper has a lot of metal reinforcements. i guess you could get rid of those too, they do come off, i took some off after i banged up the stock bumper.,

also, don't change the intercooler. My new FMIC weighed a lot more than the stock one. I guess you could get rid of the FMIC altogether and save some weight.
