The last time I brought my EVO in for service, the service manager writes down my mileage, then immediately pops my hood, and goes over and starts poking around inside my engine compartment like he's looking for contraband. I'm just standing there thinking "What the F is he doing?". Obviously the guy was looking for some excuse to void the warrantee, but I wasn't bringing the car in for a warrantee claim or anything. I just wanted a simple oil change and tire rotation. I guess they are doing pre-emptive voiding now. Thankfully I don't have anything modded to void the warrantee, but I found it really insulting for him to do that right in front of me. Just a word of warning to others out there, this was at Veracom Mitsubishi in Burlingame, CA.

That's probably just a paranoid or bad dealer. There are some dealers around here who will void your warrantee, and others who will embrace mods...
