I bought my car used and lately I have seen signs of mods being done to the car the longer I have which is fine with me....my question is if there is anyway to tell if the ECU has been flashed other than besides sending it in to one of the flashers. My car jus seems weird, I have an AFC, but I dont want to have any problems later in the future when I do heavier mods and have the ECU think one thing and have AFC set to another.

 

You answered your question. Going to have to take it to a flasher, so they can hook it up to there computer to check.

 

the s-afc will bypass the ecu even if it has a flash on it and still be able to tweak around with fuel control.as far as boost if it drops down to 16psi up top then the ecu is not flashed since the reflash makes the boost hold almost all the way if not taper down a pound or so.the dealership can check also but not all of the details of the flash,all they can tell is somethings are changed with the programming.
