When I shut my car off, it makes a rattle noise.

My Evo is stock. Even the exaust. When I shut the car off and the trans is in neutral, and the clutch peddle is released it makes this rattle noise. When I shut the car off with the clutch peddle down and it's in first gear, it doesn't make the noise???? Car only has 10,000 miles clutch feels good when i'm driving it. Car drives fine.

It doesn't rattle while the car is on. Only when I shut it off and the clutch is released/in neutral? For like a second?

Give it some Viagara, everything will stiffen up and your rattle's will be gone. j/k

Seriously you need to put the car on ramps and look under it and see if you can pinpoint where it is coming from.

yeah mine rattles all the time usually on idle and when i start moving, the tech guy at the dealer said its because they went to the pull type clutch and its somethin about how its put together, the new eclipse had the same style clutch and people used to bring them in all the time and complain about the rattle, but its "normal"

I don't have a rattle but more of a "clicking" if that makes sense. .

mine makes the exact same rattle, so i usually turn it it off with the clutch pushed in if people are around so it doesn't make that sound.... but if i'm by myself fu@k it i can stand to hear it. I think it's the throw out bearing or some kind of spring tension thingy in da transmission....

dude my stock clutch did it too, don't worry about all the little noises you'll drive yourself nuts...the tranny on the evo is noisy, no doubt dont even sweat it. When you hear a clunking noise coming from your transfer case after doing a 5K drop launch then you can worry!
