05 EVO has a different trunk lid torsion bar clip
My trunk lid was making squeaking sound when I open/close the trunk, and it turned out that a small plastic clip that holds two torsion bars were moving around and making torsion bars rub each other. (03/04 EVOs)
I happened to notice that Mitsubishi put a newly-designed clip there since 05 models. (Part number MN190216)
You can put it in the middle of the torsion bar (right under the center stop lamp), and position the smaller rubber hole toward front of the car.
Hope this helps who have the same noise.
