To wait, or not to wait?
I agree about not having fast and the furious or anything else like that for that matter influence you in your decision. Buy your car for you and not because of anyone else. After all, what do you work for? So you can do what someoene else thinks you should do? Absolutely not! At least not for me... I'm buying the car for me....for my own satisfaction. I dont care if every rice burner in the us and asia wants one. Just because I've been an EVO fan for years doesnt mean i'm the only one that has a "right" to own it. I want one for me and not because some movie has one and it's the next "in" thing. Fact is, i've been waiting years for this car to enter the US market, as i'm certain many others in here have as well. Sure it's nice to have the fastest/nicest toy on the block but dont make that the sole reason you buy this car. That's when you become a slave to materialism and you arent ever content with what you have or want. When the next model comes out, you'll forget about what you have and enter the "i want" mode again. There is always be something better. Make the best decision you think you can make/afford and stick with it. Just a word of advice.

I agree with Rob.. Make your decision for you and not other people... I have waited for the EVO since it was the EVO IV.. Now it's coming, and now it's finally mine... Hey, if
makes another one even better, I'll get rid of this one and buy that one.. "the luxury of buying the car outright!!" Anyways, I believe that the movie probably won't change the image of the car because everyone that sees the movie, already knows what the EVO is!! The only problem I am having is which color do I want??!!

Elsewhere in VA, yeah, you're probably gonna get screwed.

And just for the record... 2f2f 's EVO is indeed an EVO VII... It has a slightly different front nose from a bodykit. And the rear has aftermarket alteeza's that don't fit the car properly.. It must be an aftermarket alteeza for a regular lancer, cause it's not wide enough for the body.. (wierd) I have sat in the vehicle, started the vehicle, rummaged through the vehicle and it is so radical... And I've got my own personal video of the incident.. It is so sweet... But so was the twin Skylines as well... I know it was off topic, but it was pretty cool...
From the first page I think the wrx and sti are not that good looking, in fact if the sti was 5 grand cheaper than the evo 8
i would still get the evo 8, but to each his own. Jonason50, I
thought everybody in the import scene did know what the evo's
were also, until I told a couple of guys i was selling my wrx and
getting the evo 8, they said "what is that, lancers are ugly".
One of these guys won first place at nopi with his civic so they
do know about imports. And for those of you that are wondering
why I think wrx's and sti's are'nt that good looking and I own one,
is because when I bought my wrx i did not think we were ever
truly going to get the evo's I just wanted an awd drive turbocharged car, oh well my dreams will come true soon, I guess
mid march?

I will go for the faster car! Faster being autoX faster first, than road racing as well. My hart is still on the EVO side, but thanks to
, if STi ends up quicker in above types of racing, I will have to learn how to change those damn spark plugs on the STi as well. My familiarity with the 4G63 is leaning toward the EVO, but STi has a nice engine as well.
So, either way you decide to go now will give you a very nice car. If you are concerned with the performances, than wait a bit longer and see how those two are gona do against each other and what
might say about better EVO (boy, even my writing here is under the assumption that STi is going to be faster, but that is how I feel right now
) sometimes in this life time.
Good luck!

At the end of the day, some cars just give you "that feeling", and you know all is right with the world.
Car's are like people in that way, many times you just have a feeling about them that you can't explain and it makes you want them. I mean, sometimes there are obvious reasons that help give you that feeling, but other times you just like one over the other because your gut tells you so.
For me, the car has to be the Evo. Regardless of if the Subi has better specs on paper, I can't see myself in it only in an Evo. That's just the way it is with me, and at the end of the day I'm the one who is going to have to drive the car and be able to whip it around turns and what not and look at it in the garage. So I'm going with what I want on this one.

Plus, at the time the movie debuted, the supra was already only available used. If anyone was marking the car up, it would be the private parties or used car lots. The supra's been off the showroom since 97.
When the movie opened, the theater in the outdoor mall by my house had the real supra sitting in front of it. They guy that owned it was answering questions. He was selling the car for 100,000 bucks. I think he may have started the hype

I can remember looking for a supra turbo a couple years ago.. The cheapest one I could find was a 94 and it went for I think 23,000... It was in fair condition... They really hold thier value... What a car though...
I was at firebird international raceway just driving around to see if there are any races, and what the hell popps out of the north side turn? 4 evos, blue, red, yellow, and silver. I guess car and driver or some magazine was there doing testing. I did not get to go see one up close. though when everyone left the track, i took my lancer and went for a lap around the whole track. It was pretty damm fun, and seeing those evos race was a treat
!

Well, I for one am going to wait a year. That no ACD, no front LSD really bothers me. I initially got swept up in the Subaru hype and was extremely po'd at mitsu, but my heart is really on the Evo (I guess that's kind of dumb, my brain should be making the decision). If
doesn't address the lack of front LSD and non-viscous center diff, I will have to seriously consider the Sti. I like the beefy 5 spd, I like the FMIC, I like that you can easily boost the hp of the 4G63 engine. I like 10mm more rubber at all 4 corners compared to the Subie. Oh, mitsu, if you had only brought ACD and front LSD, most complaints would have been put to rest. But hey, gotta love your marketing guys (Are they car people, or just guys with MBA's?). Oh, and we'll wait for the driving tests too. Hopefully,
is all ready working on things. If they're not, they're in trouble.
