Trunk difficult to close

Does anyone have this problem??
It takes at least 3 tries to close the trunk... I'm sure there's probably
a way to adjust it... anyone know how?

Thanks,

stronger arms.

nah after you've had the car for more than a week, you know you have to use a little more force than normal.

I had the same problem when I first had the car. The trick is to close it, and hold it down shortly so it doesn't bounce back up.

Got same problem when my car was brand new, put some WD-40 and voila.

There are also 2 black rubber stoppers on the trunk lid itself. You can turn them clockwise or counterclockwise. They may be too far out and not allowing it to close. Turn them in clockwise a little at a time. That may help fix your issue.

Good luck.

You should see what happens if you rip the wing off.

The first time I popped the trunk without the wing, I was amazed at the velocity that the trunk flung open with.... I've left sunglasses, a soda, small bag of groceries, etc. on there and then popped the trunk, only to have them fly across the garage, lol.

Take care,

I have no problem closing my 03 trunk... so I'm guessing something must
need adjustment...

I'll try the WD40 and rubber stopper....

OZLancerlunitic, what did you adjust?

Thanks,

I have a 2 week old evo, and i noticed this from day one, im gonna try whats suggested here or take it to the dealer, but my STi did the same thing, it took like 1 to 3 times to close that thing, i think it also might be because they are so light, you need to use some force when closing, not ***** around with it??

it feels like a paperclip is holding it in place.

Errrr... no.

If it takes 3 tries to close.. then it's a failure on the design.

Read my previous post... my 03 has no problem closing.. my new one does.

Tried the rubber stopper... not it.
Hope the WD40 works.
