(a side note, I let 3 cars go with a warning yesterday for going 100mph, because they showed me respect)

Thats what I am talking about, it's all about respect. Thanks for doing your job the right way
I got a question...is it illegal to talk back to cops or give them attitude? Nothing physical, just givin them lip. I know it's unwise but it'd be interesting to know if you can legally be arrested or detained or whatever for doing it...

I have all the respect for officers, I would not be able to do their job for sure. I would be on the 6 o'clock news for killing someone for sure I bet. They have to deal with the people in the world that make us say WTF! However, there are cops here and there the fall into the WTF catigory as well.

I have talked back to cops. It took three cop cars and five officers for riding my motorcycle with my helmet visor up and no eye protection. I was so angry... asking why are there so many cops here?, was it a long winter for you guys?, not much else going on is there... after that the one cop told me to shut up or else. I didn't say another word after that.
I have to give props out the local cops. They left me off the hook a few weeks ago in my Evo.
63 in a 45. I can not remember what he wrote me up for, I paida $105 fine. Man, he cut me a good break!

Tenkra, to a limit you can, but why?
On a funnier side not, a guy near me has a real bad attitude and mumbled under his breath that he "should f*ck this fool up" and got pulled through the open window and pretty violently thrown to the ground. The rest of the story is still disputed, but respect generally attracts respect.

maybe two weeks later im at work (i work in an office building) and i get an email about an employee's laptop being stolen here so they decided to hire some extra security.
i go to the break room and i see the cop who pulled me over chillin. i was like HOLY ****.
I asked him if he remembered me and we got to talking. he said 90% of the time people write their own tickets with attitudes.
he was a pretty cool guy. that was about 2 years ago though.
To tell you the truth, I have absolutely no idea what was really going on in that cop's head, but it seems like he was questioning me as to if the vehicle was mine and stuff.
But seriously tho'... if you see someone in uniform - not trying to be stereotypical or anything - you THINK you can at least show them a little more respect or be at least a little more upfront and honest as to why he pulled me over. I think from the vibe I got from the statey, I think he put the local cop in his place a little. With the men and women who put themselves on the line everyday for their country, you think the least they have to worry about is being harrassed by the local police for doing nothing and be given a traffic citation (even tho' I didn't get one, the point is there...).
As for the other law enforcement officers who knows a little tact and do their job right, kudos to you.
