Bye Bye Evo
Wow, that's funny -- I'm trying to do the exact opposite. In fact I'm going to look at a used Evo this weekend. My 2004 Spec-V is a really good car, but it's no Evo.
THE GOOD:
Torquey and great handling for a 17K car. Quick. Limited slip. Great (if not overkill) brakes. Good sound and sunroof package. Nice seats.
THE BAD:
The main thing I don't like about my Spec is the 'buck-tooth' Nissan front end. The 2002-2003's had a much nicer front end. More minor things I don't like is the wheel-hop and torque steer you get from time to time.
Overall, if you're looking for a fun car for less money I think you'll like it. Just my 2-cents.

The SR20 is a very strong motor. 3k and I guarentee it will smoke a a Evo. I know the one he is getting is newer and has a differnt motor but I know any Sentra with a SR20 has potential. Of course it wont out run a Evo but if its what he man can afford I wouldnt knock it.

EVOSTEVO: Good luck! Whatever you do, don't try to sugarcoat the downgrade. Just accept the fact that you can't afford the Evo, and you are stepping down to a more affordable, less exclusive, FAR less performing car - it will prepare you for the shock...

I used to have a specV before jumping ship to the world of Evos. The specV is a good car and you can have some fun in it, although not as much as an Evo. I kinda wish I had kept the specV around as a daily driver though.

man i just got the car and it is nice! their is power at 1500rpms and is really fun to drive i wouldnt knock it until you drove it but it is a cool car... as for prices
