pretty much nothing...and i am pretty ****ing pissed about it...the dealership i go to is awesome, but mitsu sucks everything unholy...the only thing mitsu will cover is if the metal rusts from the inside out...which is basically impossible anyway...i had gone to mitsu about a month ago about the stone chips behind the rear left door (ya we all have em), they said "oh no problem that is covered under the anti-corrosion warranty...it's because of the defect with the door..." ya right...i go back last week...not covered...if i wasn't making 320 at the wheels i'd sell it and buy an sti...

I don't think any manufacturer's anti-corrosion (paint) warranty will cover stone chips.......Furthermore, if the stone chips are left untreated and develop into something worse, they probably won't cover that either. Get a paint "touch-up" stick and treat the chips after you're done detailing.

^^^what's the point in replying to something you don't know about? i mean honestly, spoken like a true internet junkie...it isn't the stone chips alone that should be covered, it is the misaligned door that causes the airflow to throw rock chips at the forward surface of the quarter panel behind the door...does anybody with any knowledge have anything to say? the stone chips should be covered as damage caused by a factory defect...if your transmission breaks due to a faulty factory clutch, guess what? warranty covers it...is this not the same case?

oh and thanks for the heroic advice on touching it up, but i would never use one of those sticks...only factory paint...and by the way if you touch up after you detail the wax will bubble the paint...i've read some of your posts, and i don't think you care to help...

touch the paint up BEFORE waxing, common knowledge. the door alignment is only covered under the adjustment warranty. and i hate to say it, if you pop your clutch and it trashes your trans, you will have a really really hard time getting ANY warranty to cover the clutch and trans.

The touch-up sticks from the dealer are factory paint. If you know what you're doing with them then they do a reasonably good job of "repairing" paint chips.....but WTF do I know (Calvin); I'm obviously posting this stuff just to misinform & confuse people.

BTW, if you know (and Mitsu know) that the misaligned door is the cause of the problem, then why not get that factory defect fixed under warranty?

There is a huge thread somewhere on here about the door chips. I had the area behind the door repainted and 3M stoneguard put on both sides afterward. All of this was paid for BY THE DEALER. Don't let them push you around. Dig up that thread and print out all the people and dealers that took care of the problem. They'll come around if you're persistent. They don't want to pay to have them all fixed, so if they can make you go away with a single "no" they will.
