Throttle cable placement... curious...

Ok this might have been discussed before, but I was wondering why some Evos have different placements for their throttle cable. Examples....

Mine is placed like so:

But others, you don't even see it.

Mine is an 04, but I've seen 03's placed like mine. Just curious, why Mitsu did that.

Mitsu didn't do that. Alot of people tuck them under the intake manifold for a "cleaner" look.

Hmmm... i don't see how the person did that on the last picture. It would bend the throttle cable too much and might cause problems. I tried this on mine and it didn't look like it would be a "good thing" to do.

Hence why mine is routed as it was when the car was assembled by Mitsu.

Actually.. Taking a closer look at the "modified" photo, the owner ran it adjacent to the fuel rail. This still puts a pretty tight radius bend in the cable.

Thanks for the replies.

Just for reference. Here's the Evo 9's engine bay.

Yeah kinda important to keep it working right.

I wonder if the throttle cable on the stock Evo 9 is shorter now?

I've re-routed mine without any noticable increased load on the pedal or change in either on-throttle or off-throttle resonse. It did take a bit of playing arournd to find the right routing for it, though.
