Glad to see that everyone survived. That would be my worst nightmare. Take it easy and let us know when/if you start parting out the EVO.

 

The boy in the GTI should immediately be escorted to a hospital and be castrated.

1.) For almost killing you.

2.) For chasing down an EVO. I bet his adrenaline was so high at the time when he chase you down he was imcapacitated to drive. Mostly he was unable to feel any pain when he crashed.

 

Man sorry to here but I am glad you’re Ok and you’re Friend. I had the same thing about 3 years ago in my S-10. Someone ran a stop sign and clocked me the same way my neck is still not right today from it. My advice don’t settle for less than you are due for your injuries it could end up being a life time with a pain in the neck or somewhere else literally. Get a lawyer if you can most will do it free until a settlement is reached. Best of luck to you guys. Maybe we will see your friend in an Evo IX soon.

 

Its times like this we have to realize how important these crash test safety standards are. Are the beams in the EVO's doors steel or aluminum? At any rate you are LUCKY to be alive! Be safe....

 

I took a similar hit in my STi, which is what enabled me to upgrade. The lack of side-impact airbags in the Evo almost broke the deal, but in the end I decided to take my chances. Looks like I made the right choice.

I hope you recover quickly and completely, and I hope everyone who commented on your spelling stubs their toe or nails their funnybone. Sheesh, give the guy a break.

Thank the guardian angels that your alive. But oh man so so sad that an EVO brother has to go out like that and thrown into the junkyard. What a killer to the EVOS. But sorry for what happened. So sad.

 

I have heard that the EVO has additional welds that improve the safety. I have been trying to find information on the EVO safety and only find IIHS and NHTSA crash tests on Lancers (which did not do well on side impact). Any suggestions / advice? I love the EVO, but want a safe car. (Maybe add a cage w/ side beams?) Thanks in advance
