Stock figures

Someone told me that the Evo dynoed 180-190 stock? That sounds really low considering it has 276HP. Does anyone know if this is true or not.

If anything the Evo's stock HP is somewhat under rated at the crank since I easily clicked off a 13.061 @ 105.68 run with the car bone stock... I also have the heaviest model around with the Sun and Sound package but I did remove the Spare out of the trunk. Either way it seems that the 05's are cranking out good HP with their 10.5 exhaust housing on the turbos.

Isn't it like a 15-20% loss in power once it hits the wheels?

NO not at all. It takes a loss, but not that much. The 10.5 hotside is the best thing ever made...all '03's should get it!!!

I'm not super turbo knowledgeable. How different is that from the previous models that don't have the 10.5 exhaust housing. What differences does it make?

A stock Evo should dyno higher than that. Of course it really depends on what kind of dyno you are talking about (DynoJet, Mustang, Dyno Dynamics, Dynapak, etc.). Each one will net you a different reading. FWIW, my unmolested '03 dynoed at 197whp on an AWD DynoJet in Denver. I'm sure it would have read much higher if I had been closer to sea level...

Yeah, boys and girls, it depends on the dyno and where it's getting done, mine did 207 stock on a Mustang dyno up in this thin air
