MR headlight swap?

I was wondering if this is common, difficult or expensive to do... an MR headlamp swap on an 04 VIII? I like boht however the look of the MR's just seem so much meaner and clean. I just love the look and once I get into an VIII I would consider doing it.

It's a direct fit. Only difference is the housing is Black on the MR Lights and the light seems to beam to the left, because of the right side driving found in Japan, Europe, etc...

Take your stocks out, put the MR's in. Just need to buy a new 9006 foglight bulbs for the jdm MR light's.

In the comparison to the US housings the MR housings also have a more focused high beam and the motorized hight adjustment will only effect the low beam not the low and high beam like the stock US housing. As EVO POLICE said the MR housings have a left hand drive low beam that is the opposite of our US beam. I havent been flased yet but I can see peoples teeth with oncoming traffic.

Yea I didnt know till I did the swap and noticed a black rubber tube that is connected to the low beam motor and turns a gear that adjusts the highs too.

Or search the do it yourself forum. There is a write up on how to blackout your headlights. It is a very good write up.

seriously. black them out instead of getting JDMs.. it's bad enough the FEDs are actually considering banning HID lights on new cars. And it's mostly because (like everything else) it's a stupid misunderstanding on the part of the general public. Blinding oncoming traffic with powerful HIDs will not help. The Japanese headlights also are not simply the mirror image pattern of the US lights. they turn quite sharpy up to the left (this will exacerbate the problem). Ours are fairly flat.
