On the topic of rice, it is obviously very subjective therefor it all depends on who you are talking to. Hell, my stock evo is considered rice by some people. What it comes down to is do what you want to your car. If you like a loud VTA BOV then more power to you.

Off topic, seriously, do you really need to list your mods in EVERY SINGLE POST? Your mods list have more contect than your post's do and quite frankly its ridiculous.

ppl always have an opinion on something thats not in there favor, rice or not you can argue all day, but whats important is that everytime you get in your car you are happy. Thats what i think at least.

all of us at one point or another had some sort of "rice" on our cars whether it be previous cars or current cars

I had a red prelude....dropped on coilovers, all the bolt-ons, wings west lip kit and bronze te37's...well when he first saw the rims he said thats mad rice yO!
I then told him to shut the **** up and asked him if he looked at his car lately
lets see....2000 accord w/ 18" chrome rims, no drop, dual exhaust fart cans(he has the 4cyl) stickers galore(for parts he dont have)

but around here its nothing but unpainted body kits, ridiculous kits, big wings and fart cans

 

Honestly, vta is sorta annoying for me. But without BOv, yes, you'll have compressor surge and blow the turbine.

I think if you're gonna talk about something "ricey" (which is a stupid term made by the redneck mustang guys calling asians driving civics back in the day, which has the connotation for racism) you should talk about how "ricey" it is for people who's got slow cars that talks all sorts of shlt, instead of talking about bov this and bov that.


if you start to discuss about why and who about the bov, vta or recir, then you're just not getting it.

 

I always thought "rice" was something that makes your car "look fast" without actually being fast. I would say loud BOVs are rice if their intended purpose is to make noise, rather than control boost surge.

I will never use a VTA BOV as long as I'm using the stock computer/MAF setup, because I don't like the momentary rich condition such a valve causes. Who knows, someday I may have a programmable speed-density system, and in such a case it may be beneficial to run a VTA valve.

 

what is with the word rice when the people with most of the "ricey" mods on there cars are not asian but actually hispanic.. my two cents
they should be more clear what kinda rice it is... either fried rice or mexican rice.

Well, regardless of how he chose to broach the subject, he's right. Your list of "mods" is ridiculous and only has a few things that are performance-related. There's no reason to list all your little things that no one cares about. You take up a LOT OF SPACE each time you post, and very little of that space is taken up by your own comments...

 

yes a stock evo can also be considered rice which kinda sucks. Mostly the wing i guess....PS: i dont post it in every single post, its a SIG. geez if it bothers u so much, i'll just shorten it down. Damn this sig complaining reminds me of when i used to be apart of Hip hop music forums. and also to the post above, THe reason my car isnt running a GT35R or a giant turbo with 1000cc injectors is cuz my car is daily driven and with the gas prices and the way the Evo likes to empty a tank even off-boost, i personally chose not to put too much performance mods. Just enough to be a little quicker but not too much to where it's pointless in driving a heavily modded car daily if i hardly ever race it. I'm already in the 12s, im happy. I need nothing more as of now.

 

Doing your sig that way makes it better, but still, no one cares about 3/4 of it. What little bit of it that's worth reading will never be seen, because no one will want to sift through all the crap.
