how did you blow yours up??? Opening and Closing under load??? over opening or closing??? and what went that you rebuilt at HD??? you have the 3" too right?

so far so good with mine on my Helix 3" dp... **knocks on wood** no leaks, no probs...

That is the exact reason why I bought the manual cutout for 30 bucks off jegs.com. Those electric ones have too many problems, takes less than a minute to get under the car and un-do 3 wing nuts.

I'm not 100% sure how, but I'm taking a good guess and assuming all the big fireballs I've thrown out of the cut-out, with the butterfly valve in the way of the fireballs, made **** blow up. See the 2 tiny hex screws on the butterfly valve plate? and the 2 hex screws that attaches the butterfly valve to the motor? I've blow out all those screws repeatedly... even with lock-tight and lock washers. I never close the valve while driving. Home depot carries all the screws you need though in case you need to replace any of 'em.

Yes, I have a 3" as well. I called QTP today and they said to ship my whole thing back to them and they'll repair it or ship me a brand new one, under warranty, for free. However, they stated that if there's any evidence of road damage on the motor, I'd have to pay a $30 fee to have it all replaced. I'll let you know by the end of this week how their customer service treats me. =]
