Evo Gsr?
Evo Gsr?
Ok.. so I am not understanding.. in the US Market, from what I know
there is the EVO RS, A stripped Evo without power windows/locks, radio and others stuff, and some other things added.. the roof
the Regular Evo VIII, with the option of sunroof, leather and other stuff. (The general Evo)
and the MR. 6 speed, Vortex, suspension and other stuff,
so what is the GSR? never saw one (Or have I) , on the mitsu sight there is no GSR listed.
can anyone advise what is the difference in a GSR?
thx

the gsr is the regular evo VIII to some people.. when you think about it how can one model just be called the evo VIII. There was only one model available in 03.. so as far as im concerned the standard evo became the gsr when the rs and mr were released.
Eaton,
Know that 'regular' yellow Evo you're always coming across on the weekends? Well, you've been looking at a GSR all along....
Even though
's site & literature don't 'officially' call the standard / middle-of-the-road Evo version a GSR, it is a GSR.

No!!
The GSR is only the JDM spec Evo, Japan also has the RS and the GT (Oh yea the MR too).
In Europe the have the FQ330 and the FQ400
In the States there is the RS, VIII, and the MR
The difference between the VIII and the GSR. TheGSR comes with 6-speed standard AYC and over 300 HP. The JDM GSR is actually better than the US MR and a lot faster.
A lot of people here in the states like to call the Evo VIII a GSR

The MR in Japan was the Evo 8.5, basically.
JDM GSR = USDM IX MR + AYC, double din radio, climate control
JDM GT = USDM "regular" IX without radio
JDM RS = USDM RS
I think all of the JDM cars have the option of the magnesium/titanium wheel, don't know for sure, I know the RS and GT can have it.
I know I left out some other stuff, but there's so many pesky details such as the way different interior the JDM cars get.
GSR stands for Grand Sport Racing, MR stands for Mitsubishi Racing, and RS stands for Rallye (or Rally) Sport.
