At 20k-ish my OE pads were ground to the bone... swapped in Project Mu NS pads and they were "ok". Then swapped in DS 2500s after a few thousand miles and they are awesome for a street pad! I've never faded them on the street at felony speeds (of course away from traffic). If you peel the OE fiber shims off the OE pads, and use them along with the OE metal shims there is no noise at all. Not to mention that you can get a full set of front and rear delivered to your door for less than $240.

PS I'm creeping up on 43k now...

30K miles and still have not change anything. They are solid. I drive through the mountians quite often (live in the mountains) and have been suprised how long these have lasted... My other two 2004 vehicles have needed new brakes much quicker. I am getting ready to change the front pads to hawk, change to SS lines, and the fluid. I am doing this as a precaution, not because I really need to.

33,000 miles, stock rotors, SS lines, ATE Super Blue fluid, and I'm on my second set of DS2500's. I did 5 track days last year and 8 auto-x events.

Like someone else mentioned, they aren't noisy at all as long as you peel off the shim from the back of the OE pads & put them on the DS2500's along with liberal amounts of permatex antiseize compound.

replaced my rotors & pads at aproximately 20k after 2 seasons of autocross with a co-driver.

I replaced the stock system with power slot rotors and hawk hps pads which have held up pretty well so far.

I can attest that if you don't use the fiber shims off the OEM pads, they are louder than Jehova. Squeal isn't a strong enough word. Pedestrians and other drivers give me dirty looks at stop lights.

Replaced stock pads at approximately 15k miles. Had a few, ahem, spirited miles on them. They were originally replaced with HP+'s F&R, but decided they were a bit too noisy for my daily driving. Replaced those (maybe 200 miles on them) with Project U(Mu) pads, and although I seem to recall liking the stock pads much better, I really enjoy not having brake dust everywhere after 50 miles of cleaning the wheels.
Where did you get HP+ pads for the Evo?? I thought those were not available yet (I just got HPS pads).

I am replacing my rotors and pads this weekend. 30K miles on them, pads are getting a little low and the front rotors are slightly warped. Bad enough that it's time to change for my upcoming track day.

40,000 miles here, I replaced my stock pads at about 37,500. I replaced them with stock pads again. I have grown so acustom to the stock pads I decided to stay with them. I have had no problems with my rotors either.
