A few question about purchasing

Okay, well like my sig says I plan on purchasing a new 05 Evo VIII in early June and I had a few questions. Number one, the dealer near me only has a few Evos. I plan on purchasing an Electric Blue one and I would have to "order"(I guess would be the correct word) it. For anyone who has had to do this, about how long did you wait for them to get the color/options you wanted? Secondly, what is the standard warranty on this car? I always see different figures based on haggling skills and what people intend to do with the car. I plan on modifying so I'll be avoiding my dealer at all costs unless they are real cool about it which is doubtful. Lastly, would you consider this car anymore diffiult to drive(via transmission) that any other type of manual car? That's pretty much it if anyone could answer any or all of these questions that would be great. Thank you in advance.

Most of the time they look for the car you want from another dealer and then they trade for one of theirs. As for the warranty and all your other questions do a search it's been talked to death.

Yeah it took 9 days for them to get in my Eblue. I think they just bought it off another dealer in another state.

Mine came with the standard warranty that Mitsubishi put on all their cars, like 100,000 miles free services for so many miles, that kinda stuff. I haven't had to pay one cent for oil changes, tire rotation, those kind of services. As far as modding goes and voiding the warranty, I have TBE, APEX S-AFC II, turbo timer, intake, and some other stuff. My check engine light had been coming on becuase of some of the mods, and they even checked that out for free. I still get the free services and my service manager said that even though you have a lot of after market parts, if something broke, and was unrelated to the mods on the car they would still fix it for free. I'd believe it when I see it though.

see that is what I'm hoping for that my dealer is willing to work with me if I mod the car slightly as long as my mods don't cause the problem but it seems this is hard to find

Of coarse any dealer is going to tell you exactly what you want to hear before you buy the car. Once you buy the car, they will surely blame any problem you have on some modification you made, and not cover the repair.

yeah haha they definitely will that's the type of thing you need from them in writing and a lawyer to follow up on in the event something happens

mmmm....idk about that. My dealer was straight up about what mods were ok and what werent.

As far as warranty goes...check out mitsu's website. Prolly the best source of info for that kind of stuff.

As far as difficult to drive....ive had people comment on how the clutch takes some getting used to. Let me put it this way, ive driven standard trans cars that are easier to drive...but as far as high performance cars go, its pretty easy.

it took the dealer 7 days to get mine from delaware. as far as driving this car, it is one of the easiest cars that i have ever driven. i got in and drove off like i had been driving the car for years.

It's nowt really ordering it they're actually "locating" it. Dealers don't order cars from the factory. The warranty you get to this date is Bumper to Bumper 5 years or 60000 miles, Powertrain 10 years or 100000 miles...To the orgininal owner. Some evo owners you see here got free maintenance for the 1st 4 years or 45000 but the factory ended that a couple months ago. And about driving the car (clutch and tranny), it's easy and a fun car....kinda feels more like a honda than a AWD vehicle

oh yeah, if you modify you car and take it in for any work the dealership could call the factory to void your warranty

Yeah bad choice of wording on my part I know they just get it from another dealer. As far as the standard tranny, I've never driven anything high performance in stick so I was just curious. Thanks again everyone.
