Anywhere in Ohio Besides Buschur For Install

I was looking to get my cams installed and Buschur quoted it for $300 + $75 for new tensioner for the install. Does anyone know of any other shops near Columbus or around Central Ohio that could do it for less?

If you are not capable of doing it yourself than Buschurs is the only place I'd bring it to if you are within driving distance.

Is Passen Motorsports still there in Dublin? I had them work on my RX-7 years ago...
They were located on Dublin-Granville road at the time (1994)

I wouldn't F around with cams myself. If I ever had the chance to work with buschur directly, I'd pay whatever it takes.

Quantum closed down. The tech from Quantum started Mead Engineering. I'd recommend them. Quantum was where I've had most of my work done, and now I'm continuing with Mead.

You gotta be kidding. $300 is too much to have a cam install done CORRECTLY in your $30,000+ EVO?

In the last 2 months alone we have had to RE-DO atleast 4 EVO cam installations due to other shops installing the belt incorrectly. Latest one is here now and the work was done in Columbus. The balance shaft was so far out that the entire car is falling apart from the vibrations being sent through it. Just repaired another done in the Columbus area that I did a V Pro on, same thing.

Believe me, not everyone can do a cam change properly in a 4g63. I hear how easy it is and then see cars coming in constantly for the last 16 years that have them messed up and have to pay again to have it done.

We will not re-use a tensioner, not worth the risk of it failing. We will, at your request re-use your low mileage timing belt.

Save money wherever you feel you need to, but believe me, a timing belt/cam install isn't a place I would risk it.

BTW, when we do them we take the entire front cover off the car and do it the way it is suppose to be done. We DO NOT short cut the job with wire tires and shims and remove one cam at a time and hope while all this BS is being done that nothing slips.
