Just like the subject says. Any real things I should be worried about before I install it? Thanks for the help

Here's my experience:

Be careful pulling up the roof trim strips. I cracked a clip on the driver's side, and busted a clip on the passenger side. The driver's side came up fairly easy, but the passenger side was a bear after the first few clips popped. I also had some clips come off with the trim strip itself (driver's side).

How to do it without these issues? Beats me. I tried slow, fast, angled, no-angle - none of them seemed to be better than the other.

Follow the directions and it'll go on just fine. Once I was past the clips everything else was easy.

The good news - it all went back together easily and looks fine, cracked clip/busted clip and all.

Great, I am planning on getting one myself. Did you get the carbon fiber one or the MR version one?

I ordered Jim felts' VG too. It is the original Mitsubishi part so quality is real good in terms of color and material(plastic) used. However, I have a little gap where all three parts(roof+VG+weather strip) meet on both driver side and passenger side. It seemed my VG was shorter than width of my Evo 9's roof.

I tried to tap VG into the place but no go..... Maybe I installed it incorrectly but I highly doubt it. Any1 having this issue?

I have the same issue with mine i'm going to try a heat gun and if that doesn't work then some kind of clear silicone to keep the air from ripping it off!

I just got through putting a vortex generator on my car. I had the same problem with it sticking up slightly at the sides. I went and took a look at an MR today. The aluminum roofs seem to be a slight bit narrower, so the vortex generator sits nice and flat. On the regular roofs, the area where it slopes into the rain gutter prevents it from pushing down correctly. I guess Mitsu thought it was close enough to sell as a factory option on the regular IX's.

Anyhow, I carefully pried up the side problem areas and shaved the high points with an xacto knife. It sits much closer now, but I couldn't get it to sit flush. If you haven't installed yours yet, you could probably trim it much more carefully with a dremel or something. I wish I had test fit it before sticking it down.
