How do you make Jpg smaller to post???

FOR THE LOVE OF ..... BEER.... HOW DO I GET MY PICS TO FIT FOR POSTING. The guy I bought the camera from didn't tell me I wouldn't be able to use my great 6meg pics on the internet. Ha! So much for that $1000 purchase.

I can get to post sections....but then it says my pics are to large??? How do I make them fit? Please!!!!!!! Great pics to finally show.
